Summary:
To optimize sales execution at the account level and cost effectively distribute company wine and liquor products. Major objectives are to improve market share; distribution; account relationships; product shelf position; and optimize case sales per stop. As front line representative to on-premise establishments and retailers, use personal relationships to develop a positive image of the Company by performing the following duties:
Responsibilities:
· Assists the Director, Wine and Spirits with the development and implementation of wine and liquor sales projections for the monthly sales plan.
· Achieves sales objective and performance standards indentified in sales plan.
· Call on assigned accounts according to schedule approved by Director, Wine and Spirits and Area Sales Managers.
· Adheres to all sales standards (per sales manual) example: P.O.S., rotation etc.
· Attends sales functions (meetings, promotions, etc).
· Ensures appropriate levels of inventory are maintained in the warehouse.
· Develops and maintains relationships with supplier representatives.
· Stay informed and knowledgeable of innovative, successful or growing brands and products not currently in the Try-It portfolio.
· Investigates and resolves customer problems with sales and deliveries.
Qualifications:
Education and/or Experience:
One to two years of college course work; or one year of related sales experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. The incumbent must have a proficient knowledge in common types of wines and liquors which will include origin, characteristics, serving recommendations and food paring of the products.
· Language Skills
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
· Mathematical Skills:
Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
· Computer Skills:
Knowledge of Database software; Order processing systems; Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software. Ability to learn and use MS Power Point and other applicable software.
· Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
Ability to acquire and maintain a solicitor’s permit from the New York State Liquor Authority and must have a valid driver’s license with a good driving record.
· Other Skills and Abilities
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Physical Requirements:
While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift up to 50 lbs. and/or move up to 250 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance and color vision.
